Wedding Blog - Christine & Damian

Christine and Damian met in Whistler B.C and have been together for the last nine years. Damian proposed to Christine at their home on Christmas morning by putting a pair of winter gloves in a box with her ring stuck to the engagement finger. As he nervously waited she tried on the glove and the ring slipped onto her finger and he proposed. Their wedding ceremony and reception took place at Big Sky golf course in Pemberton B.C. The evening started out with the song Juble by Klingade which the wedding party made their entrance too. Guests took their seats surrounded by Gerbers daisies and baby's breath on the tables over looking Mt.Curry. After speeches guests opened wedding crackers which had fun things to wear like stick on mustaches. While guests enjoyed dinner I played a selection of Jazz,Indie and my favourite love songs. Christines 93 year old grandmother Olllie attended and I gave her a few DJ lessons which she really enjoyed. A local Irish Band Ruckus was hired by Damian to represent his Irish culture and after dinner they enjoyed classic irish hits on the outside deck. For the last part of the night I played a wide range of genres and also incorporated some Irish music. The dance floor was rocking and it was really great to see everyone having so much fun.

Reference from Christine:

DJ Aimee was fantastic! From the moment we met her we knew she would be a great fit. Her positive energy and knowledge instilled confidence right away. Our meeting before the wedding was a great "getting to know you" session where Aimee asked us things we didn't even consider and made some great suggestions that enhanced the overall experience.

On the day of, Aimee was setup well in advance, making sure everything was ready to go, tested and looking great far before it needed to be. This added a great sense of security and comfort. When guests actually mingled inside unexpectedly due to the warm weather, Aimee was there and ready with background music playing even though this was far earlier than the planned start time.

From the moment we walked into our entry song through speeches, dinner music and the dance party Aimee was on point, professional and amazing. Our group was 50% guests from Ireland, and mostly friends under 40. Aimee played a great mix of songs to please us, my parents, the Irish crew and general party animals. she even went to the extra effort of tracking down some obscure Irish favorites prior to the event that were a huge hit that night.

Overall our wedding was a huge success - "best wedding ever", "weekend of a lifetime" were quotes from our friends and family. A huge thanks to DJ Aimee who was an outstanding partner for our special day.
