Wedding Blog - Kathy & Chris

I had the honor of djing the wedding of Chris and Kathy on Saturday, July 25th. The wedding ceremony was held at Van Dusen Gardens in Vancouver, B.C., followed by the reception at Floata restaurant on Keefer St. in Chinatown. Floata was elegantly decorated in white and purple accents and attended by 300 people. The bridesmaids wore a light shade of purple which matched the decor perfectly. Kathy and Chris made their grand entrance to the Calvin Harris song I Feel So Close To You, then followed this with their first dance as a married couple to Louis Armstrong’s What A Wonderful World. The couple decided to do the father/daughter and son/mother dance together to Jack Johnson’s Better When We Are Together. Dinner was a delicious ten-course Vietnamese meal with different types of seafood and vegetable dishes. They had many special touches that really added to the celebration, such as signature cocktails and special wine lables with their name on it. The cake was perched atop a tower of cupcakes which a good friend of theirs had made. For the cake cutting, they chose the song The Girl By City and Color, special to them since they went to the concert when they first started dating. For the bouquet toss, Kathy chose Move, Shake, Drop by Pitbull and Chris did the garter toss to Another One Bites the Dust by Queen. These songs really got the party going and after a game of giant-sized Jenga on the dance floor, all the guests got up and danced the night away. Kathy & Chris will be going on honeymoon to Vietnam where they will also have another wedding celebration in Kathy’s family village. I wish them a wonderful trip and many years of happiness.
